Columbus Schools Create SuccessWorks Academy for combating academic misconduct and

SuccessWorks Columbus School of the Academy will be an alternative educational program that aims to provide quality education to students with behavior problems, continuous and often severe. SuccessWorks Columbus Schools Academy plans to admit students in January 2007. SuccessWorks Academy will provide education to about 150 students in grades three through seven. The school not only follow a strong academic curriculum, but offer training services and consultantsto address, emotional, social and physical health needs of students. The overall objective is to step SuccessWorks Academy students back into a regular school environment and empower them to participate fully and effectively in a normal school.

SuccessWorks Academy will have two teachers from each grade level and support staff, including a director, a counselor, a behaviorspecialist, educational assistant, a nurse, art, music and physical education teachers and a psychologist. Before recruitment, staff must be able to work successfully with students at risk, have experience on how the research capacity to implement effective practices based on education, which has the communication skills necessary to work with parents and the ability to document student development on a regular basis.

This is to ensure that most cableteachers are placed in the SuccessWorks Academy. Teachers teach a curriculum that meets the needs of the student population. Not only is the key subject areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies and health / physical education and arts uniform, but the program reflects the strengths and weaknesses of students determined by the review pre-admission. This may include the use of individualized group, small class for better educationmanage the needs of student learning and socialization.

Student recruitment

Since the objective of SuccessWorks Academy is for students to return to a regular school environment constantly changing student population. The Columbus School admissions committee will admit students based on the reference SuccessWorks Academy of schools and student records. References can be based on serious misconduct and documented the often poor, poor academic performanceperformance, and lack of social skills. The probationary period will be established initially for a semester and students will be monitored and considered individually to determine after the first semester if the student is ready to return to a regular school environment.

This will include a series of collaborations with parents and counselors. Support Services SuccessWorks Academy will continue and maintain a close relationship with the student as a student returns to his regular school.
